The Dordick Trial College 2025, held from May 15–17 at the picturesque Hacienda Del Mar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, brought together leading trial lawyers and legal professionals for a unique blend of education, networking, and philanthropy.

Event Background

Hosted by Gary A. Dordick, President of the LA-American Board of Trial Advocates, the event featured lectures and workshops led by esteemed attorneys from firms such as Shegerian & Associates, Nguyen & Team, and Dolan Law Firm. Medical experts, including radiologists, orthopedists, neurosurgeons, and spinal specialists, also contributed valuable insights.

About the College

Attendees had the opportunity to engage in various networking events, including beachfront parties, live music, tequila tastings, and yoga sessions, all set against the stunning backdrop of Los Cabos. The event’s proceeds supported the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, underscoring the legal community’s commitment to advancing cancer research.

Inspirational Meeting

Eric had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Christian Contreras. Christian is a prominent civil rights attorney based in Los Angeles, California. He is the principal of The Christian Contreras Firm and in addition to leading his own firm, Mr. Contreras is a partner at Guizar, Henderson & Carrazco, LLP, where he focuses on litigating civil rights cases. He is also a co-founder of Justice X, a pro bono law firm dedicated to advancing the interests of marginalized communities. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Contreras is actively involved in community service and education. He serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the East Los Angeles College Foundation, Protesters Defense Alliance, Mexican American Bar Association, and Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities. He also teaches civil rights at the People’s College of Law in Los Angeles.

Eric enjoyed hearing Christian’s story of personal triumph over tragedy and how having a mentor changed the course of his life. It inspired Eric to become more involved in mentoring young individuals in business!
